Kevin’s career commenced in education. He initially worked at Kloof High School from 195 to 1998. He then joined Crawford College in La Lucia in 1999. By the time he left the education sector he was recognised as a respected dynamic teacher and HOD. His teaching experience provided him with valuable delegation and administration skills when dealing with people and undertaking projects. In 2004 he left the education sector to pursue his deep interest in renewable energy systems. From 2004 to 2014 his experience was primarily in the design and installation of solar water heating and energy efficient plumbing systems. Since 2014 he has gained vast experience in solar electrical systems working as an installations manager for various solar PV EPC companies. Kevin has acquired certification as a PV Green Card (SAPVIA) accredited installer. He also holds a Level 1 certification by AREP (Association of Renewable Energy Practitioners), has a Victron Professional Certification and holds a Project Management Diploma from Varsity College SA.
Mukund Chhita Galal (Billy)

Fondly known as “Billy” Mukund provides key professional engineer skills to SolarLab. Under NRS097 South African grid code regulations, Eskom’s internal grid code regulations and municipal by laws all SSEG systems require a sign-off procedure verified by a certified and registered Pr Eng. Billy has an impressive resume and vast experience. He obtained his BSc Eng (Electrical) Degree from Imperial College of Science and Technology – University of London in 1977. He was employed as a power distribution engineer by the City of JHB between 1978 to 1997 where he worked his way up to hold various senior positions by the time he left the service in 1997. He registered as Professional Engineer (Electrical) in 1984, obtained the Government Certificate of Competency (Electrical) in 1985 and was elected as a Senior Member of the South African Institute of Electrical Engineers (SAIEE) in 1997.

Mike is the director of Fulela Trade and Invest Pty Ltd T/A SolarLab.pro. As an experienced business owner through running is own architectural practice MM Payne and Associates based in Witbank Mpumalanga he provides fiduciary and financial support to Solar Lab. As a registered architect his skills also allow quick specification and drawing of structural additions like solar patio roof additions and solar carparks that require building approval from local authorities.
